Moderate Water fundamentals is a fun and friendly sea kayaking course, whilst still being adventurous. Our Moderate Water fundamentals sea kayaking course is perfect for paddlers wishing to grow their confidence in moderate wind and waves, friendly tide races/easy surf and rock gardening, whilst learning and developing new skills along the way in a safe environment. The aim of the Moderate Water Fundamentals Sea Kayaking course is to develop your skills and knowledge for your future self-led trips around the UK coastal environment whilst experiencing some of Anglesey's best dynamic water paddling. With a ratio of 1:4, you will gain more support and guidance with an overall aim to work with each individual's wants and needs. Consider what you will need to work on in a dynamic environment, whether it is more confidence in challenging conditions or maybe safety and rescue or decision making. While fast flowing tidal streams around Anglesey's coastline will heighten the planning and decision making considerations, they will also offer more challenging conditions which will enrich the sea kayaking experience you will have. We will work together to develop your confidence in moderate water and introduce the skills and tactics to help you become self reliant in moderate water with planning, decision making, self-rescue and group management. Anglesey's many headlands create fantastic dynamic playgrounds for us and with its many protected coastlines, even on breezy days, we can still find moderately stimulating sea states. In windy conditions we have the Menai Straits; The Swellies is a playground for sea kayakers and this area allows us to play with a downwind run! A great confidence building course for paddlers in moderate water.
