North Wales Sea Kayaking, Anglesey - COVID-19

Covid-19 update

In light of recent developments from the Welsh Government in the easing of restrictions in Wales, you'll be pleased to know that we're now taking bookings from 13th July onwards and have a number of courses to suit all levels from August.   Here are our course dates for 2020.

We have been working on our risk assessments and COVID-19 policy and are ready to welcome visitors back to Anglesey once restrictions are lifted.

There are of course a number of restrictions which will prevent or change the way we run our courses, the main one being that if you are showing symptoms of COVID-19, such as a dry persistent cough, a fever and a loss of smell or taste, or if you have been in contact with someone with these symptoms prior to coming to Anglesey, please do not travel here and follow the recommended Government advice of self-isolating, if you are unable to attend for this reason, your booking will be postponed until such a time that you are able to safely travel to Anglesey with no symptoms.

Social distancing must be maintained at all times before, during and after your time on the water with us, boats and kit will be disinfected and both Steve or other instructors and clients should practice regular hand hygiene as much as possible, either by hand washing with soap or with an anti-bacterial hand gel.  We advise against car sharing, unless of course you are from the same household.

Courses will run in suitable conditions depending on the course and ability of the paddler in order to reduce the possibility of a rescue situation. Steve will speak with you prior to you attending the course and make the decision on the best location based on your ability to self-rescue, or not, in which case, he will offer advice on what you should be etc. and choose the venue for the course accordingly.

You will be updated with the meeting time and location on the day, when Steve will brief you on how social distancing will be maintained, how cross-contamination will be avoided and of course discuss your goals and requirements from the course.  A copy of our risk assessment and COVID-19 policy will be forwarded to you prior to you travelling to Anglesey, along with the appropriate medical form and booking forms.

Should you require further information, please check out the Canoe Wales website, which is updated on a regular basis.

I look forward to welcoming you back to Anglesey for fun and adventure on the water!

Steve
